Kimberly Nega serves as the Chief Human Resource Officer at Schiller DuCanto & Fleck LLP. She has 25+ years of law firm experience in which she has handled all aspects of human resources and the employee life cycle. Kimberly has extensive knowledge in the development of human resources infrastructure, policies and procedures, negotiation of firm healthcare and insurance benefits, execution of attorney and administrative staff recruiting and orientation, and maintaining best practices to provide a healthy work environment for everyone. She also develops new and refines existing HR strategies that support the achievement of near and long-term business objectives.
Kimberly works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Managing Partner to Executive Committee to coordinate the annual performance review program, law clerk, secretarial, paralegal and attorney recruiting, and ensures the firm’s CLE compliance for all internal programs. She oversees the secretarial departments and manages its staffing and workflow based on attorney needs. Kimberly conducts meetings and educational course for the firm’s three offices (Chicago, Lake Forest and Wheaton, Ill.) on relevant topics such as sexual harassment, diversity and inclusion, and mental health and maintains compliance with governmental regulations at the federal, state and local levels. She’s also responsible for the firm’s staff compensation system to develop pay leveling strategies that create competitiveness, internal equity and career mobility.
Prior to joining Schiller DuCanto & Fleck, Kimberly worked at a large national general practice law firm in Chicago for 17 years where she handled the day to day management of several internal programs, the hiring process, employee relations, performance reviews, terminations, and worked with Practice Group Leaders to provide support and resources for the firm’s eight offices. In addition to providing advice and coaching regarding performance and compensation planning, Kimberly developed policies and procedures for the paralegal and project assistant staff, and analyzed and prepared various departmental budgets.
Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA).
