An accomplished appellate attorney with more than 20 years of experience, Brian A. Schroeder excels at complex divorce cases that require his strong analytical, research and problem-solving capabilities. Mr. Schroeder’s extensive background in civil litigation offers clients a level of courtroom savvy that is exceptional among family attorneys. He is a superb strategist who utilizes his appellate expertise to prepare cases with an eye toward the future and protect his clients’ interests for the years ahead.

Mr. Schroeder is on the vanguard in making the laws that affect clients’ lives, and brings bold and creative thinking to advance his clients’ cases. He made the law in Illinois regarding the custody and use of frozen embryos when couples separate. He has experience in LGBT legal issues, and made the law in Illinois concerning property rights for same-sex partners. Mr. Schroeder also assists clients in defending or opposing prenuptial agreements.

When complex problems arise, Mr. Schroeder draws on his legal knowledge and courtroom experience to give his clients a tactical advantage. An exceptional communicator, he makes compelling presentations that maximize the chances for a winning result. To clients and colleagues alike, Mr. Schroeder is the go-to lawyer for successfully navigating the contentious and complicated maze that divorce often becomes.

A frequent lecturer and writer, Mr. Schroeder has presented seminars in appellate practice for the Chicago Bar Association and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. He has published articles regarding appellate procedure in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Mr. Schroeder is also active in his community, and has served as President of the Athletic Board for St. Anne School, and has coached boys volleyball and football.

Mr. Schroeder received a B. A. with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his law degree, cum laude, from Northern Illinois University, where he was a Notes and Comments Editor for the Law Review.
